Scholarship
Overview
The National Education Scholarship Program is a pan-India initiative supporting students from Standard 9 to Ph.D. across all academic streams - Science, Arts, Commerce, Medicine, Law, Engineering, and more. This scholarship empowers meritorious and financially disadvantaged students by removing economic barriers to education.
🧭 Eligibility Types
You can apply based on:
1. Must be an Indian citizen and resident
2. Students enrolled in Standard 9 to Ph.D. in recognized institutions (school, college, or university) for the academic year 2025–26
3. Need-Based category: Must submit valid government-issued income certificate (annual family income ≤ ₹9.5 lakhs)
4. Merit-Based category: Must demonstrate excellent academic performance in previous exams
5. Open to all backgrounds; special preference for girls, students with disabilities, transgender individuals, and those with single/no parents
Scholarship Benefits:
1. ₹70,000 per year for students in Standard 9 to 12
2. ₹1.5 lakh per year for UG, PG, and Ph.D. students
3. Covers tuition fees, books, transportation, uniforms, hostel/mess (as applicable)
4. Laptop support for higher education students (based on need and availability)
5. Mentorship opportunities and community engagement support
6. Scholars are encouraged to “pay it forward” by mentoring another student in the future
Required Documents:
1. Aadhaar card (ID proof)
2. Current academic admission proof (school/college/university)
3. Latest academic mark sheets and entrance exam score (if applicable)
4. Family income proof with 6 months’ bank statements
5. Student & parent/guardian bank details
6. Recent passport-sized photo
7. SOP and extracurricular/project evidence
Selection Process
Scholarship applications will be reviewed in three cycles annually.
Step 1: Shortlisting
• Applications are reviewed based on eligibility criteria (need-based or merit-based)
• Priority is given to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and underrepresented groups
Step 2: Document Verification
• Cross-verification of submitted documents such as income certificate, academic records, admission proof, ID, and bank details
• Only complete and valid applications proceed to the next step
Step 3: Screening / Interview
• Shortlisted applicants may be invited for a short interview or online assessment
• Purpose: to understand student aspirations, background, and suitability
Step 4: Final Verification & Disbursement
• Final list of selected candidates is published
• Funds are disbursed directly to the institution or student bank accounts after confirmation
• Selected students may be asked for additional verification before fund releases
